ANNE RADUNS: People who enter into uncontested divorces tend to stay friends afterwards because in a contested divorce, it becomes a battle and it's very hard to stay friends with somebody that you've had a battle with.

ANNE RADUNS: Uncontested divorces are very beneficial. They're definitely less time consuming. They're less costly. And people are more likely to agree to be bound to something that they've created themselves.

ANNE RADUNS: A marriage settlement agreement is an agreement between the parties where they've resolved all of their issues, such as child support, a parenting plan, equitable distribution and alimony. When my clients come in and say that they've reached an agreement between themselves--

ANNE RADUNS: --my role is to make sure that all the papers are filled out correctly, make sure that everything is legally sufficient and make sure that we go to court timely and promptly to get them divorced.

ANNE RADUNS: In an uncontested divorce there is no trial because they've agreed to everything. And the only hearing we have is a very short five-minute hearing to allow them to get divorced by the judge.
